Breaking boundaries in Ageing research

Rompiendo fronteras en la investigación sobre envejecimiento

The General CSIC Foundation presents, on December 19, the act "Breaking boundaries in Ageing research” that will take place in the Student Residence of the Higher Council for Scientific Research (CSIC) in Madrid, at 6:30 p.m.

The event will have the purpose of making public the International Centre on Ageing (CENIE) in Spain and will be presented by the General Director of the General Foundation of the CSIC, Mr. Miguel García Guerrero. In addition, the event will have the interventions of Dr. Ma. Dolores Puga, senior scientist of the Institute of Economics, Geography and Demography of the CSIC, which will offer the conference "An interdisciplinary approach to research on ageing"; and Javier de Felipe Oroquieta, research professor at the Cajal Institute (CSIC), who will speak on "The relevance of brain plasticity in active ageing". Rosa Menéndez López, President of the CSIC and the FGCSIC, will close the meeting.

The International Centre on Ageing is born as an answer to this phenomenon that is changing the world we live in. Its main mission is to consolidate itself as a centre of international excellence in regards to research and innovation in the ageing field, through the leadership of the Spain-Portugal cross-border collaboration in the promotion of knowledge and research in the field.

The CENIE is framed in the INTERREG V-A Spain-Portugal Cooperation Programme (POCTEP) 2014-2020, funded by the European Regional Development Fund (FEDER).
